Completely airtight, this piece works perfectly as a splash back, or as art work, requiring no frame for your wall. Size: 110cm x 120cm x 1cm thick Weight: 38kg Iris vase Iris - vase 260 mm Overlay colored glass - where we emphasize differences in depths and the bas-reliefs are rendered more dramatic through the use of patinas. For pieces with a bas-relief sandblasted into double-layered (Overlaid) glassware, we also make use of mechanical buffing and brushing techniques in order to increase the surface effects evoked by these plastic bas-reliefs. We also to heighten plasticity by exploiting the contrasts between thicker and thinner layers of the colored sandblasted glassware. Strange Fruit Strange Fruit was designed to be an outdoor installation. Comprising of 10 separate pieces, Strange Fruit seems to grow amongst most flowers, and when the sun catches the glass, it seems to twinkle in the sunlight. Strange Fruit is sold either per stem, with discounts available with the purchase of 10 stems. The average lenght of Strange Fruit are 400mm + to 1000mm. Coalescence ii Through the study of botanical sources of inspiration, 'Coalescence ii' exists as piece of collected, abstracted, surreal and almost alien piece of sculptural glass. Derived from many different points of reference, such as twisting vines and microscopic pollen, I explore form, space, material and texture, using only the purity of transparent glass and light Coalescence ii is now approximately a year a half old. It was the piece that I felt truly satisfied at having made. I now see it as the 'calling card' for myself and my aesthetic, and it never fails to be a source of inspiration. It in effect represents the journey of development I went through at the RCA to develop my accute and critical feelings about glass.These 'ideas' eventually led me to make 'Coalescence ii' and that now feeds into all my bespoke designing work, and is helping me to forge out a career in glass. The piece represented in the images is only the starting point. To date I have made approx 7 variations on Coalescence, all which are unique pieces. Standing 120mm tall, Coalescence study 1 explores different botanical visual elements. This piece is also completely hand made using blowing and flameworking techniques. Coalescence. study 2 This piece is directly related to Coalescence, as this is a miniture replica. Standing approximately 160mm tall, Coalescence study 2, is a wonderful little representation of the style and aesthetic I work with, - and a must have for a collector of my early work!
